Mark Young Construction, LLC (MYC) is seeking skilled construction management professionals to fill the role of Construction Engineering Specialist. This position is vital for the successful execution of our projects, ranging from renovations to new builds.

The Construction Engineering Specialist collaborates closely with the Superintendent, Project Manager, Owners, Subcontractors, and various stakeholders on diverse projects throughout the year. There are also opportunities for interaction with Clients, Architects, Engineers, and Consultants to assess project scope and associated costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement elements of Owner agreements and Subcontractor agreements, including specifications, drawings, general conditions, supplementary conditions, addendums, and modifications.
  • Interpret and analyze blueprints for practical application in the field and discussions with owners, architects, MYC management, and construction teams.
  • Evaluate and comprehend self-performed tasks. Assess processes and provide recommendations for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Engage with field crews—understand MYC's fundamentals and self-performed tasks, track deadlines and timelines, address crew inquiries, and guide teams to meet established schedules.
  • Support estimating efforts and perform quantity take-offs.
  • Promote safety on-site—coordinate with MYC personnel and Safety Consultants regarding safety issues, corrections, and policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Construction Management from an accredited institution, or two (2) or more years of relevant experience in the commercial construction sector.
  • Proficient in reading and analyzing construction documents for commercial projects.
  • Familiarity with ICBO, ASTM, ANSI, ACI, UMC, and related standards.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with Managers and Vendors.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and evaluating a range of tangible variables.
