Position Summary:

The Production Engineering Organization at Boeing is in search of Liaison Engineers to support various commodities. We seek proactive individuals capable of making swift engineering decisions and eager to engage directly in the factory environment. This role necessitates exceptional communication and collaboration skills, working closely with production teams.

The selected candidate may be assigned to various shifts, including weekends or daily overtime, with some travel required (up to 15% during the first year).

This position entails daily exposure to a factory setting, which includes navigating stairs, potential trip hazards, high noise levels, and chemical exposure (both breathing and handling), as well as entering aircraft at different stages of assembly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and resolve product/process challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Utilize engineering principles to investigate technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customers, designing both interim and final engineering solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop resolutions for design non-conformances.
  • Document, analyze, and communicate reported issues that may affect design intent and safety; recommend and manage solutions.
  • Implement product/process enhancements.
  • Design temporary structural repairs and perform static strength analyses. Develop non-destructive testing procedures, tools, and standards.
  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participate in design reviews, representing the engineering community throughout the production and post-production phases.

Work Environment:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work at one of the designated locations.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which necessitates U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance is required post-start.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Current MRB (Material Review Board) certification or certification within the past 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace/Aeronautical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and collaborative problem-solving skills, with proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
  • Experience in aerospace, fabrication, manufacturing, and/or additive manufacturing.
  • Experience in Production Engineering.
  • Relevant technological expertise.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to lead teams, work independently, and collaborate effectively.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education and experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited program in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor's degree) and typically 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master’s degree + 3 years of related work experience).

Shift Information:

This position is primarily for the first shift, with potential rotations to second shift and weekend support.

Compensation is determined based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
