Position Summary:

The Boeing Company is in search of a Senior Product Review Engineer to contribute to Boeing Defense, Space & Security operations. This role is crucial in supporting commercial derivative aircraft programs. We seek individuals who are proactive, capable of making swift engineering decisions, and willing to engage directly with production processes. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential as this position involves close partnership with production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of Boeing's design and engineering principles.
  • Identifies and resolves product and process challenges throughout the product lifecycle, leading investigations into technical and quality issues that require innovative engineering solutions.
  • Guides teams in analyzing root causes and developing corrective actions for design discrepancies.
  • Implements enhancements to products and processes.
  • Employs creative strategies to address complex nonconformities and identify deviations.
  • Evaluates reported issues for potential safety implications and oversees complex resolutions, developing both interim and final solutions.
  • Provides expertise during the design phase by engaging with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design evaluations.
  • Acts as a representative of the engineering community throughout the production and post-production phases.
  • Ensures compliance with Boeing standards among suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Drafts customer communications to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of equipment, leading on-site repair teams and investigations as necessary.
  • Designs effective jacking and shoring schemes.
  • Oversees the design of temporary structural repairs and conducts static strength assessments.
  • Develops and leads non-destructive testing protocols, tools, and standards.
  • Creates and implements technical training programs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports all Structural and Electrical Liaison Engineering/Design Engineering roles as required for various aircraft fleets.
  • Focuses on the Executive Transport Fleet, specifically the 747 aircraft.

Work Environment:

This position is expected to be fully onsite. Candidates must be prepared to work at designated locations.

Security Clearance Requirements:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which necessitates U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
  • Current or recent MRB (Material Review Board) certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing repair methodologies for structural and electrical rework to restore aircraft or systems to their original specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in interpreting and creating engineering drawings, specifications, and design manuals.
  • At least 8 years of experience in avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems diagnostics.
  • Experienced in analyzing engineering designs to formulate solutions for product and process challenges.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in conducting analyses, root cause investigations, and drafting resolutions for non-conformances.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in identifying and evaluating opportunities for product and process improvements.
  • Certification in Materials Review Board (MRB) or Universal Product Review (UPR) authority.
  • Experience in executive interior design and installation.
  • Background in modification and repair of wide-body aircraft.

Education and Experience:

Typical educational background includes a Bachelor's degree with 9 or more years of relevant experience, a Master's degree with 7 or more years, or a PhD with 4 or more years of experience in engineering or related fields.

Shift Details:

This position is primarily for the first shift, with potential rotations to second shift and weekend support.
