Role Description:

The Boeing Company is in search of a Senior Product Review Engineer to contribute to the Boeing Defense, Space & Security sector. This role will focus on supporting commercial derivative aircraft programs. We seek individuals who are proactive and capable of making swift engineering decisions, willing to engage directly in the manufacturing process. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for effective partnerships with production teams.

The selected candidate will primarily work on the first shift, with the possibility of second shift rotations and overtime as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of Boeing's design and engineering principles.
  • Identifies and resolves product and process challenges throughout the product lifecycle, leading investigations into technical and quality issues that require innovative engineering solutions.
  • Guides teams in conducting root cause analyses and formulating resolutions for design discrepancies.
  • Implements product and process enhancements.
  • Employs creative strategies to address complex nonconformities and identify deviations.
  • Evaluates reported issues for potential safety implications and manages intricate resolutions, leading the development of both interim and final solutions.
  • Provides expertise during the design phase by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and engaging in design assessments.
  • Acts as a representative of the engineering community throughout the production and post-production phases.
  • Ensures compliance with Boeing standards among suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Drafts customer communications regarding the safe operation and maintenance of equipment, leading on-site repair teams and investigations.
  • Designs effective jacking and shoring plans.
  • Oversees the design of temporary structural repairs and performs static strength evaluations.
  • Develops and implements non-destructive testing procedures, tools, and standards.
  • Creates and delivers technical training programs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports Structural and Electrical Liaison Engineering roles as necessary for various aircraft fleets.
  • Focuses on the Executive Transport Fleet, particularly the 747.

Work Environment:

This position is expected to be fully onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work at one of the designated locations.

Security Clearance:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which necessitates U.S. Citizenship.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
  • Current or recent MRB (Material Review Board) certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing structural and electrical repairs to restore aircraft systems to their original specifications.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in interpreting and creating engineering drawings, specifications, and design manuals.
  • At least 8 years of experience in avionics systems troubleshooting and aircraft electrical systems.
  • Experience in researching engineering designs to resolve product and process issues.
  • At least 8 years of experience in root cause analysis and addressing non-conformance issues.
  • Experience in identifying and evaluating opportunities for product and process improvements.
  • MRB/UPR certification.
  • Experience in executive interior design and modifications on wide-body aircraft.

Education and Experience:

Typical education and experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's degree with 9 or more years of experience, Master's degree with 7 or more years, or PhD with 4 or more years of experience.

Shift Information:

This position is primarily for the first shift, with potential rotations to second shift and weekend support.

Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
