Position Summary:

The Senior Mechanical Product Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and components for FCB machines, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete project lifecycle and spearhead cost-reduction initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and budgets while effectively addressing challenges.
  • Lead departmental projects aimed at product enhancement and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct technical calculations and perform analytical modeling.
  • Design, develop, validate, and maintain components utilizing manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, brazing, machining, and thermoforming.
  • Establish and refine component specifications, prototyping, testing, and regulatory compliance for mechanical and fluid systems in existing products.
  • Manage the integration of new designs and improvements into the product development process.
  • Create innovative assembly and machine configurations tailored to specific customer requirements and to broaden product offerings.
  • Produce models and detailed schematics using SolidWorks or similar parametric modeling software.
  • Investigate and initiate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to enhance engineering models, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Adhere to established methods and procedures for the transfer of design documentation, including part and assembly drawings, BOMs, and other necessary materials.
  • Engage with customers and suppliers to clarify project requirements and material specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance to product engineering, sales, customer service, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving field issues and customer concerns related to specific products.
  • Facilitate project reviews and team meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a comparable engineering role.
  • Proven ability to execute detailed engineering calculations manually and through Excel.
  • Expertise in at least one of the following areas: heat transfer, material mechanics, machine design, control systems, material science, tribology, refrigeration, fluid dynamics, injection molding, or sheet metal design.
  • Proficient in using measurement instruments such as multimeters, current clamps, thermocouples, anemometers, pressure transducers, protractors, measuring tapes, dial indicators, and other gauges.
  • Capability to generate comprehensive engineering analysis reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience with parametric solid modeling software, particularly SOLIDWORKS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or equivalent software.
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, type, and coordinate eye/hand/foot movements; occasional standing and walking.
  • Capability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • This role involves working in an office, manufacturing, and laboratory settings.
  • Clear vision, including the ability to distinguish colors accurately.
  • Ability to hear, comprehend, and differentiate speech and other sounds.
