Role Description:

Boeing's Production Engineering Organization is on the lookout for Liaison Engineers to support various commodities. We seek proactive individuals who can make swift engineering decisions and are eager to engage directly with the manufacturing process.

This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, as you will work closely with production teams. Candidates may be assigned to various shifts, including weekends and overtime, with some travel expected (up to 15% during the first year).

The position involves regular exposure to a manufacturing environment, which may include navigating stairs, encountering trip hazards, working in high noise areas, and handling chemical materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and resolve product and process challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Utilize engineering principles to investigate technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be addressed by customers, designing both interim and final engineering solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop resolutions for design non-conformances.
  • Document and analyze reported issues, communicating any deviations that may affect design intent and safety; recommend and oversee resolutions.
  • Implement product and process enhancements.
  • Design temporary structural repairs and perform static strength analysis. Develop non-destructive testing procedures, tools, and standards.
  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and engage in design reviews, representing the engineering community throughout the production and post-production phases.

Work Environment:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work at one of the designated locations.

Security Clearance:

This role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which necessitates U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance will be required post-start.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Current MRB (Material Review Board) certification or certification within the past two years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace/Aeronautical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and collaborative problem-solving skills, with proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
  • Experience in aerospace, fabrication, manufacturing, and/or additive manufacturing.
  • Background in Production Engineering.
  • Relevant technological expertise.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to lead teams, work independently, and collaborate effectively.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education and experience typically acquired through advanced technical education in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor's degree) and typically 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
