Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at Solomon Page. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in planning and creating menus, executing daily food production, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Assist the Executive Chef in planning and creating menus, including daily specials and seasonal offerings.
  • Daily Food Production: Execute a 3-4 course menu daily, including salad, fish entrée, sandwich, and potentially a pasta or soup.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory management and purchase orders to ensure efficient and cost-effective food production.
  • Team Management: Train, motivate, and assist team members to ensure smooth and successful operations.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Maintain food safety guidelines and procedures, and monitor HACCP temperature logs to ensure compliance.
  • Café Operations: Assist in producing and executing daily and weekly café menus.
  • Culinary Programs: Implement new culinary programs in collaboration with the marketing and culinary team.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: Ideally 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef, with progressive culinary and kitchen management experience.
  • Certifications: ServSafe certification is a significant plus.
  • Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Work Environment: High volume, complex food service operations experience is highly desirable.
