The Role
We are seeking an Executive Sous Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Chef and Director of Culinary Operations to execute the culinary vision of the Executive Chef. This includes overseeing all aspects of kitchen activities, including high-level organizing, planning, cost controls, and leading the Sous Chef team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen activities, including menu development, expediting, food safety, and inventory management.
- Lead the Sous Chef team and actively teach and coach current and future hourly staff.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and Director of Culinary Operations to execute the culinary vision.
- Coordinate production and preparation for offsite events and consulting work.
- Develop and implement systems for kitchen operations, organization, and financial management.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, with a focus on culinary leadership and management.
- Proven track record of success in menu development, expediting, and inventory management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
