Environmental Services Supervisor

In alignment with established hospital protocols, oversees Environmental Services personnel and/or project aides during designated shifts to guarantee the hospital's cleanliness. Conducts inspections to ensure compliance with established cleanliness and quality benchmarks. Maintains schedules, records, and reports related to these activities, including quality control and associated data files and computer updates.
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping/environmental services within an acute care hospital environment.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills, capable of prioritizing and resolving issues while sustaining workflow and daily operations.
  • Ability to think critically for decision-making and problem-solving to ensure urgent or emergent situations are managed appropriately within hospital protocols.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation when interacting with stakeholders across the care continuum, including patients, families, physicians, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to manage interruptions while maintaining progress in addressing hospital-wide environmental requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment in managing all task and staff-related activities and challenges.
  • Highly responsive and collaborative with all stakeholders, demonstrating exceptional conflict resolution skills.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:
  • Strong computer proficiency is advantageous.
  • Supervisory experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with budgetary processes.
Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; Associate's Degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.
License/Certification: N/A
