Adjunct Professor of Spanish

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position in Spanish. This role involves teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, helping students master course content, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of the subject area. The successful candidate will also be responsible for continuing professional development, utilizing current technology, and participating in faculty governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Spanish courses across all levels, including elementary and advanced classes.
- Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students.
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students.
- Participate in faculty governance and contribute to the development of academic programs.
- Stay current with developments in the field of Spanish language and literature.
Requirements
- A master's degree in Spanish or a related field is required. A bachelor's degree in Spanish and a master's degree in another language or linguistics may also be considered.
- Equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students are essential.
