Job Summary
The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, temporary (adjunct) faculty position in English. Adjunct positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.

As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, helping students master course content, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of your teaching field. You will also be expected to continue professional development, utilize current technology, and maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics.

The instructional assignment may encompass teaching courses across all levels in English. Specific courses offered may vary by campus. Courses for this assignment may include:
  • ENGCW 400 Creative Writing
  • ENGED 305 Structure of English
  • ENGLT 360 Women in Literature

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must have a master's degree in English, literature, comparative literature, or composition; OR a bachelor's in any of the above AND master's in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with a specialization in reading, creative writing, or journalism; OR the equivalent. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire. You must also have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
