Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Professor of Anthropology to join our team at the Los Rios Community College District. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching assigned classes, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of their teaching field.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes in Anthropology, including Biological Anthropology and Cultural Anthropology
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of their teaching field
  • Continuously develop and improve teaching methods and materials
  • Participate in faculty governance and contribute to the development of curriculum and programs
Requirements
  1. A master's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology, or a bachelor's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology and a master's degree in a related field such as Sociology, Biological Sciences, or Forensic Sciences
  2. Experience in teaching and mentoring students, particularly in a community college setting
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  4. Ability to use current technology in teaching and learning, including online platforms and educational software
