Job Summary
The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, temporary (adjunct) faculty position in anthropology. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.

As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, helping students master course content, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of your teaching field. You will also be expected to continue professional development, utilize current technology, and adhere to professional conduct and ethics standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes in anthropology, including courses such as Biological Anthropology, Introduction to Forensic Anthropology, and Native Peoples of California.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students.
  • Develop and implement curriculum, including course syllabi and assessments.
  • Participate in faculty governance, including accreditation and student co-curricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in anthropology or archaeology, or bachelor's degree in either field with a master's degree in sociology, biological sciences, forensic sciences, genetics, or paleontology.
  2. Equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
