Environmental Compliance Specialist

Triumvirate Environmental, a leading provider of environmental services across North America, is in search of an Environmental Compliance Specialist for our Lab & Onsite Support Services (Lab/OSS) division.

This role is essential in assisting our clients with the management of their hazardous waste initiatives, ensuring adherence to both state and federal regulations. It is a physically demanding position that necessitates a strong technical skill set.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee hazardous and chemical waste management programs for clients on-site, in compliance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and various other governmental regulations.
  • Implement on-site support services throughout the entire lifecycle of hazardous materials management programs, including conducting chemical inventories, segregating chemicals, and arranging for the off-site disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Characterize, consolidate, package, and transport hazardous waste for clients in accordance with RCRA and DOT guidelines.
  • Educate clients on proper chemical safety protocols and hazardous waste management practices.
  • Conduct and document environmental health and safety audits for clients in their facilities and laboratories utilizing Triumvirate's ADVISE program.
  • Gain familiarity with OSHA regulations and Triumvirate's Health and Safety Practices.
  • Respond to chemical spill incidents by managing containment, cleanup, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Upon successful completion of emergency response training, all Environmental Specialists will participate in a rotating emergency response team, which includes being on-call 24/7 for one week each month.

Required Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Genuine interest in environmental health and safety.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Successful completion of OSHA/DOT physical examination upon hiring.
  • This position is classified as Safety Sensitive.
Preferred Skills:
  • Completion of 40 Hour OSHA Hazwoper training.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Class C Commercial Driver's License with HAZMAT endorsement.
  • Experience in a customer service-oriented environment.
