Triumvirate Environmental, a leading provider of environmental services in North America, is in search of an Environmental Specialist II to join our Lab & Onsite Support Services (Lab/OSS) team.
Your role will involve assisting our clients in overseeing their hazardous waste initiatives and projects, ensuring adherence to both state and federal regulations. This position demands a strong technical skill set and is physically demanding.
This position will report to the Environmental Specialist Manager and is primarily based onsite at client locations.
The compensation for this role ranges from $27 to $29 per hour, with opportunities for overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee hazardous and chemical waste management programs for clients at their facilities, in compliance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other relevant regulations.
• Provide onsite support throughout the entire lifecycle of hazardous materials management programs, including conducting chemical inventories, segregating chemicals, and arranging for the off-site disposal of hazardous waste.
• Characterize, consolidate, package, and ship hazardous waste in accordance with RCRA and DOT standards.
• Educate clients on proper chemical safety protocols and hazardous waste management practices.
• Conduct and document environmental health and safety audits at client facilities and laboratories using Triumvirate's ADVISE program.
• Gain familiarity with OSHA regulations and Triumvirate's Health and Safety Practices.
• Respond to chemical spill incidents by managing containment, cleanup, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Required Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in the field.
• A valid driver's license.
• A genuine interest in environmental health and safety.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Successful completion of OSHA/DOT physical examination upon hiring.
• This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
Preferred Skills:
• Completion of 40 Hour OSHA Hazwoper training.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Class C Commercial Driver's License with HAZMAT endorsement.
• Experience in a customer service role.
