As a key member of the MDA Edge team, the Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) regulatory requirements and organizational EH&S and Workplace Safety (WPS) policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective EH&S programs to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular assessments and analysis to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement best practices for EH&S management.
- Provide training and education to employees on EH&S policies and procedures.
- Investigate and report on EH&S incidents and near-misses.
- Develop and maintain EH&S policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure EH&S program effectiveness.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to address EH&S program deficiencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Natural Science, Engineering, Emergency Management, or related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in environmental health and safety, risk management, or directly related field.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local EH&S regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
