Job Overview

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Direct and facilitate the identification of essential metrics, data evaluation, process enhancement, and the execution of restructured workflows for both clinical and administrative operations.
  • Engage with interdisciplinary teams to assess existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and design optimized workflows that boost productivity and resource efficiency.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma and other process enhancement methodologies to support collaborative improvement initiatives aimed at increasing organizational effectiveness, enhancing quality, reducing waste, and ensuring high levels of patient care and satisfaction, as well as staff and clinician engagement.
  • Lead the development of a standardized monitoring and reporting framework to foster and support a culture of continuous improvement; identify and facilitate problem-solving efforts to address system, process, and performance deficiencies.
  • Employ analytical and problem-solving capabilities to perform root cause analysis, evaluate current business performance, and drive ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain systems to ensure that insights and best practices are disseminated throughout the organization.
  • Design and implement an internal Lean Six Sigma certification program.
  • Guide and mentor personnel at all levels on Lean Six Sigma principles, empowering them to actively engage in improvement initiatives and sustain progress over time.
  • Act as a proactive and ambitious change agent to foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout InterMed, aligning with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Collaborate with the data analytics team to create an analytical framework that supports informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and InterMed policies.
  • Perform additional duties to uphold the mission, vision, and values of InterMed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in healthcare administration, industrial engineering, or management information systems.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Lean practitioner in healthcare environments is required.
  • Certifications:
    • Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma is required for individuals without a Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or management information systems.
  • Proven experience collaborating with clinical teams and providers in clinical practice operations.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to foresee operational challenges.
  • Demonstrated capability to plan and collaborate with various stakeholders to implement significant projects or change initiatives.
  • Comfortable and skilled in working collaboratively with physicians, healthcare providers, and management.
  • Able to manage sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, demonstrating confidence in independent judgment and discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; capable of articulating ideas clearly and succinctly across various communication settings and styles.
  • Ability to make decisions based on sound judgment.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic medical records.
