About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Technician to join our team at Ryder in Portland, ME. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fueling facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fuel, wash, and detail vehicles to meet company standards
  • Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units, checking tire pressure, oil levels, and reporting any service issues to the shop
  • Record fuel activity and maintain proper fuel and DEF inventories and reconciliation
  • Move heavy-duty vehicles and perform minor maintenance tasks, such as tire repairs
  • Maintain the fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and perform facility maintenance tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Two (2) years or more of related work experience, preferred
  • Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to understand customer verbal communication
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Understanding of computer hardware and software, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and email
  • High degree of thoroughness and dependability
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including shift work, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
