Position: Director of Employee Relations/People Partner

Role Responsibilities:

We are looking for a proactive Director of Employee Relations/People Partner to join our innovative People Team at Crusoe Energy. In this crucial role, you will spearhead the initiatives of Crusoe Energy's People Team, establishing strong collaborations with team members, employees, and leaders across all levels to develop and execute effective people strategies. Your key responsibilities will encompass organizational development, change management, and promoting employee growth, mobility, and engagement. Additionally, you will contribute to the formulation and interpretation of guidelines, policies, and practices that influence our workforce in our regional offices. You will adeptly manage and resolve conflicts, compliance issues, and sensitive workplace matters, leveraging the expertise of your People team partners as needed. As a trusted advisor, you will provide guidance, mentorship, and support to our managers on all HR-related issues, working closely with the Chief People Officer and colleagues in other locations. You will also play an active role in our recruitment processes, participating in interviews and collaborating with our Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to ensure best practices and an exceptional candidate experience. Furthermore, you will assist in refining and executing corporate programs that enhance organizational functionality, employee development, retention, and overall company performance, all while supporting Crusoe Energy's growth trajectory.

Daily Activities:

  • Collaborate with the Chief People Officer and leadership to develop pragmatic, strategy-aligned HR initiatives that address the evolving talent needs of our regional teams.
  • Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, improve retention rates, and boost overall job satisfaction.
  • Proactively cultivate a positive work environment that values inclusion, diversity, employee morale, and overall well-being.
  • Conduct organizational assessments and talent gap analyses, providing structural recommendations to align business strategy with HR initiatives.
  • Lead talent review processes and discussions regarding growth opportunities and promotions with leaders in our regional offices, ensuring clear and supported outcomes.
  • Utilize data, including employee engagement and management practice surveys, to gain insights into organizational dynamics and develop programs that drive positive change.
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to enhance our interview processes and participate in key interview cycles.
  • Foster a corporate culture that emphasizes continuous learning and personal and professional growth, partnering with leadership to design impactful programs.
  • Provide HR-related education and updates to all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with team members to formulate, educate, and enforce HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Coach managers on HR practices, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Effectively address and resolve employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions, partnering with legal counsel as necessary.
  • Facilitate off-boarding processes for voluntary and involuntary terminations when required.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of people systems that impact our regional workforce.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 8-10 years of experience as an Employee Relations Partner, demonstrating the ability to foster positive relationships that yield favorable outcomes.
  • Experience working with software, infrastructure engineering, technical sales, and support, design, and marketing teams.
  • Familiarity with employee relations in California, Washington, and other regional areas.
  • Proven ability to leverage business strategy insights to enhance organizational effectiveness and talent development.
  • Strong capability to utilize data to drive actionable insights and measurable impact.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving fact sets and decision-making processes.
  • Highly organized, process-oriented, and reliable, with excellent follow-through on commitments.
  • Ability to work independently, managing key projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, capable of navigating ambiguity.
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential matters.
  • Expertise in consultation, investigations, and policy development to address sensitive employee behavior and performance issues.
  • Proven ability to build influential partnerships across organizational lines.
  • Aptitude for staying informed on the latest HR trends to provide relevant solutions.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
