Position Overview

The California State University is seeking an Academic Employee Relations Manager (Administrator I) to oversee employee relations within the academic framework.

Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Salary Range: $7,500 to $9,167 per month. The salary is competitive and negotiable based on qualifications. This role is part of the CSU Management Personnel Plan (MPP).

Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), paid sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays annually. Eligible employees can also participate in the fee waiver education program.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs, the Academic Employee Relations Manager will independently address complex employee relations issues, ensuring adherence to employment laws, collective bargaining agreements, and workplace policies.

This role is integral to the Faculty Affairs leadership team, promoting a professional and empathetic environment in all campus interactions.

  • Ability to mediate disputes and complaints effectively.
  • Proficient in drafting reports, correspondence, and procedural documentation.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant human resources or academic personnel experience.
  • Experience in a collective bargaining environment.
  • Proven track record in effective conflict resolution.
