UC San Diego Health is in search of a Head of Labor Relations to lead the management and oversight of labor relations resources within the organization.

The successful candidate will be tasked with establishing objectives, assigning responsibilities, and fostering constructive labor-management relations.

Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer of Health, this position involves making strategic decisions that influence organizational functions and mitigate risks.

The ideal applicant will possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, a minimum of eight years of pertinent experience, and extensive knowledge of labor and employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set departmental priorities and objectives
  • Manage collective bargaining agreements
  • Formulate effective negotiation strategies
  • Provide guidance on employee and labor relations issues
  • Lead a team of labor relations professionals
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree along with relevant experience
  • In-depth understanding of labor and employment law
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities
  • Capacity to manage challenging situations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR policies and practices
Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least five years of leadership experience in labor relations
  • Background in a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with the UC health system
  • Labor relations experience within California

Pay Transparency Act:

Annual Full Pay Range:
$124,400 - $243,600 (prorated if less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent:
$116.67
