Office Environment

Our office is located in a prime area, equipped to support flexible working arrangements. We promote a hybrid work model, requiring our Portfolio Management Assistant to be present in the office three days a week to nurture a culture of innovation, collaboration, and relationship-building.

Role Overview

The Portfolio Management Assistant plays a crucial role in providing administrative, analytical, and ESG support to portfolio managers within the US High Yield team. This position emphasizes bond allocation and strategy, ensuring that investment approaches are effectively executed within the portfolios. A successful candidate will evolve into a key contributor to the portfolio strategy formulation process, engaging with analysts and senior portfolio managers on security selection decisions. This role offers a potential pathway to a fund manager position for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the US High Yield portfolio team with various tasks throughout the portfolio management cycle, including both daily operations and long-term initiatives.
  • Monitor portfolio position weights and risk analytics against benchmarks and targets, identifying deviations and initiating orders to rebalance portfolios.
  • Pay special attention to ESG factors and sustainability-linked strategies in portfolio management.
  • Ensure compliance with client guidelines by monitoring portfolio positions and trade orders.
  • Manage portfolio duration effectively.
  • Oversee portfolio cash balances, ensuring alignment with product guidelines and current investment strategies.
  • Coordinate with the trading desk on trading programs and oversee trade executions.
  • Review and address compliance breaches.
  • Monitor and manage corporate actions for the funds managed.
  • Engage with the credit research team to develop action plans based on issuer and industry meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Product team to deliver portfolio and investment-related information to clients through presentations, written commentaries, and responses to ad hoc inquiries.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal departments, including Compliance, Sales, Marketing, and Investment.
  • Foster strong connections with colleagues across the Global Credit and Fixed Income platforms.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2-5 years of experience in investment management.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented and personable.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Bloomberg.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Aladdin.
  • CFA designation or candidacy.
  • Experience with coding in Python, R, or VBA.
