Job Description

At Stellar Management, we are seeking a highly skilled Collection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our leasing and compliance department, you will be responsible for initiating and managing legal processes with tenants who fail to comply with the terms and conditions of leases and other legal agreements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Portfolio Review and Analysis: Review arrears reports for all properties in the portfolio and identify underperforming assets.
  • Collection Strategy Development: Develop and implement collection strategies to optimize collections.
  • Legal Coordination: Coordinate with the legal team on the commencement of the collection process.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate with outside attorneys on the collection of arrears for current and former tenants, and coordinate with property managers on the collection of outstanding arrears.
  • Resident Engagement: Contact residents regarding outstanding balances and resolve billing issues.
  • Payment Plan Agreements: Draft and monitor payment plan agreements.
  • Customer Service: Act as a company representative in upholding quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree or a combination of education and/or experience in a legal or paralegal background.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the Yardi system and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
