Position Overview
The Accounting Analyst for Credit Strategy at Millennium Management Corp plays a crucial role in managing all financial aspects related to trader compensation. This position involves collaboration with Senior Portfolio Managers (SPMs), Trading Management, and various departments including Middle Office, Legal, and Human Resources to ensure accurate calculations and reporting of PM Compensation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire Portfolio Manager Lifecycle, from understanding compensation agreements to onboarding new teams and executing compensation calculations.
- Engage with multiple departments, including Portfolio Managers, Business Heads, HR, Legal, and IT, to facilitate smooth operations.
- Prepare month-end closing processes, reporting, and compensation-related tasks, focusing on credit strategies.
- Analyze and monitor P&L for specific portfolio investments, evaluating their influence on compensation calculations.
- Develop reporting and analytical frameworks for senior management that enhance overall business value.
- Collaborate with the technology team to drive automation and process enhancements.
- Address ad-hoc projects as required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, preferably with a background in public or private accounting and expertise in carried interest waterfall calculations.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively conveying complex financial concepts to senior leaders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a strong client service orientation and a collaborative spirit.
- Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
- Highly analytical with robust problem-solving abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, quality, and integrity in all tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Oracle and Tableau is a plus.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $160,000, specific to New York, and may be subject to change. Millennium offers a comprehensive total compensation package that includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a wide range of benefits. Individual experience and qualifications will be considered when formulating a competitive total compensation package.
