Position Overview

The Compensation Reporting & Analysis team at Millennium Management Corp plays a crucial role in overseeing all financial aspects related to trader compensation. This team collaborates closely with Senior Portfolio Managers, Trading Management, Middle Office, Legal, and Human Resources to review, calculate, and account for contractual compensation agreements.

In addition to preparing monthly and year-end payout calculations, the team is responsible for delivering insightful reporting and analysis to Senior Portfolio Managers and upper management, as well as addressing various ad hoc requests. To enhance the firm's evolving compensation strategies, team members will engage in strategic projects alongside a dedicated technology team, aiming to boost efficiency and automate intricate calculations. This role offers the chance to work cross-functionally with business management teams, portfolio managers, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all facets of the Portfolio Manager Lifecycle, from comprehending compensation agreements to onboarding new teams and executing compensation calculations.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Portfolio Managers, Business Heads, HR, Legal, Middle Office, and IT.
  • Oversee month-end closing, reporting, and compensation-related processes, with a specific focus on credit strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze the P&L of specific portfolio investments, evaluating their influence on compensation calculations.
  • Develop reporting and analysis for senior management that adds significant value to the overall business.
  • Coordinate with the technology team to drive automation and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Address ad-hoc projects as required.
Qualifications/Skills Required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Finance or Accounting role, preferably with a background in public and/or private accounting and experience in carried interest waterfall calculations.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial concepts to senior leaders, including management and Portfolio Managers.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating a strong client service mentality and a willingness to assist others.
  • Demonstrated capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage time efficiently.
  • Highly analytical with exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, quality, and integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Oracle and Tableau is a plus.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $160,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium Management Corp offers a comprehensive total compensation package that includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a robust benefits package.
