Job Description

Job Summary:

The Project Portfolio Lead will be responsible for leading our project portfolio to success. As a key member of our team, you will analyze our portfolio, identify opportunities for growth, and develop strategies to drive project quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Portfolio Analysis: Perform analysis across our portfolio to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Interdependency Management: Identify and communicate interdependencies across portfolios, work efforts, and delivery teams.
  • Project Quality and Efficiency: Leverage data analysis to drive project quality and identify and facilitate resolution of work effort related issues and risks.
  • Change and Risk Management: Coordinate project change requests and ensure effective change and risk management controls are in place.
  • Resource Management: Understand bank-wide resource view and identify potential capacity issues.
  • Project Health Checks: Continuously monitor and perform project health checks to ensure project success.
Position Description:
  • Portfolio Curation: Facilitate the curation of the project portfolio by analyzing demand and translating demand into work efforts in the portfolio.
  • Staffing and Resourcing: Support the bank with staffing and resourcing needs for projects and other work efforts.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Sponsors to ensure work efforts are being managed with an adequate level of quality.
  • Project Decisioning: Analyze project decisioning and assumptions as well as potential impact across all portfolios and work efforts.
  • Project Health Assessment: Utilize available data and KPIs to assess project health across all work efforts in the portfolio.
  • Risk Mitigation: Ability to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks across the portfolio.
  • Interdependency Coordination: Identify, communicate, and coordinate interdependencies across portfolios, work efforts, and delivery teams.
  • Change and Risk Management: Ensure work efforts incorporate effective change and risk management controls as appropriate.
  • Process Implementation: Participate in defining, implementing, and executing principles, processes and frameworks established by the ePMO.
  • Compliance: Ensure that products, applications, and systems are in compliance with established ePMO standards, and meet customer requirements.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Provide project advice and socialize lessons learned around project management and project execution.
  • Non-Compliance: Document and report non-compliance to policies, processes, and standards and provide assistance in their resolution where appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 7+ years of related experience in project management, preferably in a PMO or ePMO organization.
  • Project Management Tools: Experience working with project management tools, such as creation of project plans and budgets.
  • Data Analysis: Leveraging data analysis to gain insight on portfolio execution and to identify risks.
  • Interdependency Management: Managing interdependencies across projects.
  • Deliverables: Producing high-quality deliverables for large to enterprise-size technology or business projects.
  • Risk Assessment: Participation in risk and mitigation assessments.
  • Project Management Standards: Project management standards and metrics.
  • Training: Project management training.
  • Reporting: Reporting to senior-level management and project committees.
