Position Overview
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to fill the role of Vice Provost for Student Enrollment and Financial Services. This pivotal position will oversee the Student Financial Services (SFS) department during a transformative period, emphasizing the importance of accessibility and support for students.

Key Responsibilities
The Vice Provost will report directly to the Vice Provost for Enrollment and will be responsible for:
  • Providing strategic leadership and guidance to advance institutional priorities related to excellence, opportunity, and financial sustainability.
  • Identifying and implementing innovative strategies to enhance service delivery and technology within the SFS team.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations regarding student aid and financial management.
  • Acting as the primary liaison with relevant auditing bodies to maintain accountability and transparency.
  • Fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment within the SFS organization.

Leadership and Collaboration
The Vice Provost will work closely with the Vice Provost for Enrollment and collaborate with various stakeholders across the institution to:
  • Develop and implement strategies that prioritize student care and financial stewardship.
  • Support and cultivate a culture of Inclusive Excellence within the SFS team.
  • Recruit, mentor, and supervise the SFS management team, focusing on performance and wellness.
  • Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and improve operational effectiveness.

Financial Oversight
The role includes financial leadership responsibilities such as:
  • Administering the SFS operating budget to ensure strategic resource allocation.
  • Building relationships with financial colleagues to enhance budgetary processes.
  • Collaborating with University Advancement to identify philanthropic opportunities.

External Engagement
The Vice Provost will also:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Advocate for students and engage with student leaders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Represent the SFS department in relevant discussions at local, state, and national levels.

Qualifications
