The Commercial Lending Officer is tasked with generating new business, underwriting, structuring, and finalizing commercial loans, in addition to managing and servicing an existing portfolio.

This Officer serves as the Bank's representative within the local community, actively engaging in community initiatives and promoting all the Bank's offerings.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the financial needs of prospective clients and recommend suitable financial products, services, and loans.
  • Encourage and cross-sell additional products and services aligned with client needs.
  • Maintain ongoing relationship management with existing clients to foster goodwill and secure further business opportunities.
  • Engage in networking efforts, including community events, local Chamber of Commerce meetings, and building relationships with influential contacts.
  • Conduct both warm and cold outreach to potential clients.
  • Drive new business development to achieve annual growth objectives.
  • Compile and prepare client information for new account openings.
  • Analyze financial data to assess the creditworthiness of potential clients for risk and underwriting assessments.
  • Draft loan memos and documentation for loan approval processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of loan documentation.
  • Oversee the timely closing and funding of loans.
  • Keep clients informed about the status of their accounts and suggest resolutions for any disputes or account activities.
  • Collaborate with back-office staff to address credit issues, overdue payments, and related matters.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in banking or financial services.
  • Proven experience working directly with clients at all levels, from support staff to business executives.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, evidenced by prior interactions with decision-makers and influencers.
  • Ability to prepare and coordinate proposals, ensuring accuracy and effectively navigating the underwriting process.
  • Experience working autonomously and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
