The Commercial Lending Officer plays a crucial role in generating new business, underwriting, structuring, and finalizing commercial loans, while also managing and servicing an existing portfolio.

This Officer actively represents the bank within the community, engaging in local affairs and promoting all of the bank's offerings.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the financial needs of prospective clients and recommend suitable financial products, services, and loans.
  • Promote and cross-sell additional products and services tailored to client needs.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with current clients to foster goodwill and secure further business opportunities.
  • Engage in networking initiatives, including community events and local business meetings, to strengthen relationships and generate new sales.
  • Conduct both warm and cold outreach to potential clients.
  • Drive new business development to achieve annual growth objectives.
  • Compile and prepare client information for new account openings.
  • Analyze financial data to assess the creditworthiness of potential clients for risk evaluation and underwriting.
  • Draft loan memos and documentation for approval processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of loan documentation.
  • Oversee the timely closing and funding of loans.
  • Inform clients about the status of their accounts and suggest resolutions for any disputes or account activities.
  • Collaborate with back-office teams to address credit issues, delinquent payments, and related matters.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three years of experience in banking or financial services.
  • Proven experience in direct customer engagement at various organizational levels.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through previous interactions with decision-makers.
  • Ability to prepare and coordinate proposals, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the underwriting process.
  • Experience working independently and managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
