As the foremost provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England, we are looking to welcome a dedicated Facilities Operations Specialist to our team.

This role operates under the general guidance of the Operations Manager and will support the Facilities and Maintenance Team in executing all maintenance duties and ensuring the upkeep of our facilities, buildings, furnishings, and properties across New England.

The position is primarily based at our Worcester, MA Headquarters, with travel required to various programs throughout the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute scheduled facility enhancements as identified by the assigned supervisor and coordinate ongoing maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor to formulate strategies addressing the facility requirements of all Veterans Inc. housing initiatives.
  • Identify and report major maintenance repair needs.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of both the interior and exterior of company properties.
  • Support snow removal efforts, including blowing, shoveling, and salting around buildings.
  • Oversee facility renovations and special projects, preparing plans and adhering to established timelines for facility projects while monitoring progress and reporting updates to the supervisor.
  • Conduct repairs and/or installations of company machinery, equipment, or appliances.
  • Provide insights on facility maintenance issues and cyclical replacement needs.
  • Engage in manual labor and semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance of agency facilities and grounds, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, masonry, carpentry, HVAC, coordination, and preventive maintenance.
  • Be responsible for assessing and managing building emergencies as they arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with trade school experience preferred.
  • 2-5 years of general building repair and maintenance experience.
  • Certification in a trade program is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Availability to work some weekends is necessary.
  • Ability to pass a CORI Background records check.
  • Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, with consideration for religious and medical exemptions.
