Job Overview:

This position offers multiple shifts:

Sunday-Thursday 7:00am to 3:30pm

Tuesday-Saturday 7:00am to 3:30pm

Sunday-Thursday 3:00pm to 11:30pm
  • Perform cleaning duties across campus facilities, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, corridors, laboratories, dormitories, and kitchens. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness of walls, floors, windows, furniture, woodwork, toilets, sinks, and appliances through various cleaning techniques such as washing, waxing, buffing, sweeping, polishing, dusting, and vacuuming.
  • Ensure restrooms are sanitized and maintained to provide a fresh environment.
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying and cleaning waste receptacles.
  • Restock bathroom supplies, light bulbs, batteries, and other necessary items.
  • Utilize cleaning equipment to maintain floors, carpets, drapes, and furniture.
  • Wash both interior and exterior windows, along with other surfaces.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on cleaning equipment, including electric sweepers, scrubbers, and other machinery.
  • Keep designated outdoor areas free of debris and trash; additional cleanup may be required as directed.
  • Assist with snow removal and ice treatment in collaboration with the Grounds Department.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Conduct visual inspections for repairs or utility issues and report findings.
  • Perform security checks of buildings and grounds during cleaning duties.
  • Adhere to work standards, including punctuality and proper reporting of absences.
  • Understand and engage in waste recycling processes.
  • Assist with moving furniture and setting up for university events.
  • Participate in special cleaning projects as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the department by performing additional essential duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional cleaning or facility maintenance experience.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's License.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, bend, stoop, and twist regularly; capable of standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods; able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to operate a fork truck (1C license preferred).
  • Familiarity with power tools for basic repair tasks.
  • Participation in required training programs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, following both oral and written instructions.
  • Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma/GED, basic proficiency with web-based applications, and general facility repair skills.
  • This role is considered essential personnel and may require attendance during emergencies, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will maintain a positive and professional relationship with all members of the Clark community.
