Customer Business Development Manager

The primary objective of this position is to increase sales in the assigned territory through the growth of existing customer accounts and the development of new business relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking Heilind Electronics and its franchised lines and services deeper into the accounts, establishing the company as the go-to resource for supply chain and engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Meet with branch leadership to understand the company vision, key objectives, and individual expectations within the first two weeks.
- Learn the Heilind system and sales tools within the first 30 days, and introduce yourself to top accounts and supplier reps in person.
- Meet with the remainder of supplier reps and account base in person within the first 60 days, and start loading new opportunities into the CRM and sales tools.
- Strategically plan coverage of the territory by ranking accounts (A, B, or C) within 90 days, and schedule regular meetings with supplier reps to discuss business opportunities.
- Identify a minimum of $150,000 in new opportunities within the first six months, and accomplish three supplier training events.
- A business or technical bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least four years of sales/marketing experience, preferably in electronic component distribution or a closely related field.
- Proven experience as a Field Sales Manager or similar.
- Experience with sales tracking software.
- Experience with commissioned sales, field sales, or related fields.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
- Must be able to report to assigned office location during scheduled in-office workdays.
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are frequently utilized sales tools.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to overcome objections from potential clients/customers.
- Ability to develop and administer insightful market research protocols.
- Self-motivated.
- Record of achieving quotas.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables.
The employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers.
