Position Overview

SSOE Group is seeking a Process Engineer to contribute to our dynamic team. This role involves supporting local clients while also providing virtual assistance to project teams across various locations. The selected candidate will engage in projects from the initial stages through to construction, focusing on the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process calculations, and equipment selection and specifications during the early phases of our projects, continuing to offer support throughout the construction phase.

A Typical Day May Involve:

This position will support clients within the chemical sector through sound engineering practices. Responsibilities typically include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading engineering studies, drafting reports, and completing engineering calculations.
  • Assisting in the creation of PFDs and P&IDs, conducting process calculations, and specifying equipment for procurement.
  • Providing engineering oversight and validation of process deliverables.
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams to fulfill project requirements.
  • Contributing to the development of bid packages.
  • Conducting fieldwork to support the aforementioned responsibilities.
Essential Qualifications

Qualifications Required from Day One:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, qualifying for licensure in the relevant state.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with chemical plants and related industrial environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience with chemical simulation software, such as ChemCAD or Aspen.
  • Knowledge of Pipe Flo or AFT Fathom is advantageous.
  • Ability to engage in client-facing roles while collaborating with contractors and vendors.
  • Understanding of building codes and chemical storage regulations.
  • Experience with utility system equipment and distribution networks.
  • Familiarity with industrial wastewater treatment is a plus.
  • Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000/year based on location, education, experience, and relevant certifications.
