Position Type: Full-time. Standard working hours are typically from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with flexibility required due to the dynamic nature of a start-up environment. Candidates should be prepared for occasional travel, weekend work, and remote tasks as necessary. Schedules may be adjusted to accommodate after-hours responsibilities.

ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the Office Manager plays a crucial role within the School Leadership Team, ensuring that the campus maintains high standards of organizational and operational excellence. The primary responsibilities of the Office Manager include:

Leadership in School Operations

  • Establishing and nurturing an office environment that reflects a positive culture aligned with the Academy's mission;
  • Managing a variety of complex clerical and administrative tasks with independent judgment and professionalism;
  • Overseeing school office support functions, including bookkeeping, administrative assistance, and reception duties;
  • Acting as a liaison among students, staff, parents, district personnel, and the public, while keeping the Superintendent informed of relevant concerns;
  • Handling phone communications and correspondence, including emails and packages;
  • Coordinating logistical arrangements for meetings, conferences, and events;
  • Scheduling appointments and maintaining the Superintendent's calendar;
  • Supervising the collection and management of financial transactions in collaboration with the Director of Operations;
  • Monitoring office supply inventory and managing orders as authorized;
  • Composing various school-wide communications, including newsletters, memos, and updates;
  • Maintaining organized files, including inventory lists, student records, and office communications;
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Office Manager position will demonstrate a strong commitment to the Academy's mission and a willingness to exceed expectations in supporting students, families, and staff. Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (required); Bachelor's degree preferred;
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in office management, preferably within educational or business settings;
  • Strong project management and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
  • Capability to lead and uphold high standards of operational excellence;
  • A proactive learning orientation and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment;
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.

Compensation and Benefits

The Academy of Visual and Performing Arts offers a competitive salary range of $38,500-$42,500 annually, aligned with our commitment to internal pay equity.
