Academy of Visual and Performing Arts is a tuition-free public charter school dedicated to fostering academic and artistic excellence for students in grades 6-12. Position Type: Full-time. The typical work hours are from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the expectation of flexibility in scheduling due to the dynamic nature of a start-up environment. Candidates should be prepared for potential travel, weekend work, and remote tasks as necessary.

Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the Office Manager plays a crucial role within the School Leadership Team, ensuring that the campus operates at high standards of organizational and operational excellence. The Office Manager's primary responsibilities include:

Leadership in School Operations

  • Fostering a welcoming office atmosphere that aligns with the Academy's mission;
  • Overseeing and executing a variety of complex administrative tasks with independent judgment and professionalism;
  • Managing school office functions, including bookkeeping, administrative support, and reception duties, while maintaining confidentiality;
  • Acting as a liaison among students, staff, parents, district personnel, and the community, keeping the Superintendent informed of any concerns;
  • Handling all forms of communication, including phone calls and correspondence;
  • Coordinating logistical arrangements for meetings, conferences, and events;
  • Scheduling appointments and maintaining the Superintendent's calendar;
  • Supervising the collection and maintenance of financial records in collaboration with the Director of Operations;
  • Monitoring inventory and ordering supplies as authorized;
  • Composing and distributing school-wide communications and maintaining accurate records;
  • Ensuring proper filing systems for various school documents and communications;
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Office Manager position will demonstrate a strong commitment to the Academy's mission and a readiness to support the needs of students, families, and staff. We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (required); Bachelor's degree preferred;
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in office management, ideally within an educational or business setting;
  • Exceptional project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and deliver timely results;
  • Capability to lead and uphold high standards of operational excellence;
  • A strong desire to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.

Compensation and Benefits

Academy of Visual and Performing Arts offers a competitive salary range of $38,500-$42,500 annually, reflecting our commitment to equitable compensation within the PK-12 charter market.
