Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Coordinator to join our team at Abacus Service Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of sponsored projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies, and providing exceptional support to our research administrators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Independently manage the financial portfolio for sponsored projects, including tracking spending rates, identifying issues, and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Financial Reporting: Develop and maintain accurate and timely financial reports for faculty and leadership, including forecasting expenditure rates and personnel management strategies.
  • Grant Administration: Coordinate and monitor grant-related activities, including subcontractor management, transfer of award issues, and institutional review board (IRB) requirements.
  • Financial Analysis: Utilize financial analytics and metrics to develop reports and provide insights to faculty and leadership.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and external partners, including subcontractors and funding agencies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Social Science, Research Administration, or Public Administration.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in research administration, accounting, financial management, and/or budgeting.
  • Skills: Excellent financial analytical ability, knowledge of sponsored project accounting, fund accounting, and financial reporting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and grant sponsor websites.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience with Workday or similar large financial management systems, and familiarity with eRA Commons, NSF Fastlane, and/or other grant sponsor websites.
  • Education: Higher-Education or non-profit work experience.
  • Skills: Project management and organizational skills, effective at managing up, and strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
