Grants & Financial Coordinator (Grade 8):
The Grants Shared Services Office at BioMed is committed to assisting faculty in the pursuit of sponsored programs and the effective management of awarded funds. The Grants and Financial Coordinator is responsible for delivering extensive high-level support related to grants and finances for the Division of Biology and Medicine. This role also involves advising Research Administration personnel on the appropriateness and allocation of financial charges.
The incumbent will be tasked with preparing grant applications and overseeing awards from various federal and non-federal funding sources. A comprehensive understanding of research administration, particularly in financial aspects, is essential. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing grant proposals for departmental submissions utilizing the COEUS grant management system and other sponsor submission platforms.
- Coordinating the funding and contracts for sponsored research by reviewing and processing awards, ensuring compliance with award terms, and providing guidance on project-related financial issues.
- Managing budgets, reviewing expenditures, and preparing financial reports while participating in training initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Public Health, Biology, Health Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.

Grants & Financial Specialist (Grade 9):
In this role, the Grants and Financial Specialist will provide comprehensive high-level support for grant and financial operations within the Division of Biology and Medicine. This position includes advising Research Administration staff on financial charge appropriateness and allocation.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing grant applications and managing awards from a variety of funding sources.
- Assisting with the training and delegation of tasks to Grant Coordinators.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree with two to four years of experience in research administration or financial management is preferred.
- Experience with proposal preparation for federal and non-federal grants and familiarity with the COEUS grants management system is advantageous.
- Prior experience in higher education or non-profit sectors is preferred.
