Key Qualifications: Candidates must possess a proven track record in capital equipment sales, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in packaging or related fields, along with a strong background in technical sales.

Role Overview: The Sales Territory Manager is responsible for the promotion and sales of automatic checkweighers and industrial products within a designated territory. This role encompasses all end-user projects and OEM activities, including sales efforts beyond the immediate region. The position requires the assessment, development, and execution of strategies and tactics to meet objectives set by company leadership.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Lead sales initiatives to enhance market presence for new machine sales, Genuine Yamato Parts, and service offerings.
  2. Conduct site visits to manufacturing facilities to evaluate equipment needs, including climbing to heights of approximately 15 feet.
  3. Achieve assigned annual sales targets.
  4. Collaborate with representatives and agents of Yamato OEMs within the territory.
  5. Coordinate sales efforts with fellow Sales Territory Managers.
  6. Formulate and implement strategies to achieve corporate goals.
  7. Work closely with various departments, particularly Applications Engineering and Project Management, to align activities within the territory.
  8. Analyze market conditions and provide insights for marketing strategies to boost sales.
  9. Develop in-depth knowledge of all Yamato products.
  10. Prepare and submit monthly reports, forecasts, and other requested documentation.
  11. Utilize CRM systems to manage the sales pipeline in accordance with established procedures.
  12. Participate in quarterly sales meetings at the corporate headquarters.
  13. Attend trade shows, both domestic and international, as required, which may involve extensive standing and walking.

Territory: The position covers the Northeast United States, with potential adjustments based on business needs and managerial discretion.

Candidate Profile:

  1. Preferred residency within the designated territory.
  2. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with 5 to 10 years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.
  3. Strong preference for candidates with capital equipment sales experience.
  4. Excellent organizational capabilities.
  5. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Proficiency in Windows-based software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
  7. Able to endure brief periods in varying environmental conditions during site visits.
  8. Capability to climb ladders and mezzanines averaging 15 feet in height.
  9. Willingness to travel at least 51% of the time, with occasional international travel.
  10. Possession of a valid driver's license and insurability.
  11. A valid passport is required for international travel.

Physical Requirements: The role necessitates regular sitting, talking, and listening, with frequent use of hands for various tasks. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds may be required. Extended periods of standing and walking are expected during trade shows.
