Unit Description:

Sodexo's Campus Segment is in search of a detail-focused Multi-Unit Financial Controller to oversee financial operations for a diverse portfolio. This role is pivotal in collaborating with Unit Operations Managers to manage financial aspects effectively.

The Multi-Unit Financial Controller will be responsible for providing financial support for weekly projections, participating in budget reviews, updating forecasts, closing periods, and generating ad hoc reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main contact for unit finance projections and inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgeting standards.
  • Prepare and analyze weekly financial reports for the College.
  • Review financial reports for all units in preparation for weekly district discussions.
  • Assist managers during weekend projections, resolving issues and ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Provide ongoing guidance to Managers, Chefs, and Operations Managers regarding financial status.
  • Collaborate with the District Manager weekly to consolidate financial variances and support understanding of these variances.
  • Analyze month-end reports for the College and all district operations, providing variance explanations and corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the College, assisting general managers and controllers with budget preparation and conducting workshops.
  • Oversee monthly re-forecasting for the College, guiding general managers in the process.
  • Ensure all units submit weekly reports, including Measures, Flash, Forecasting, Labor Pulse reviews, and Labor KPI analysis.
  • Deliver training for general managers and unit administrators on financial systems.
  • Onboard new general managers and unit administrators/controllers on Sodexo financial systems.
  • Conduct meetings with general managers to review food and supply cost management, labor optimization, and retail sales generation.
  • Ensure adherence to Sodexo-specific tools for effective business management.
  • Initiate and follow up on cost reduction strategies with management teams.
  • Perform routine audits of inventory and cash handling practices.
  • Conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
  • Support additional financial products as requested by the district manager.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience or education in finance or accounting.
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating strong organizational skills.
  • Capability to manage core responsibilities while engaging in other departmental initiatives.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, proficiency in MS Excel, and familiarity with financial systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
