Role Overview

This position is for a Financial Accountant within the A&C team, focusing on Premix and Non-Dairy Bioactives in North America. The role is pivotal in maintaining the accuracy of financial processes and data for GNNA. A key responsibility will be to facilitate the seamless integration of the Watson business into GNNA financial reporting. This position plays a crucial role in managing the month-end closing cycle.

The emphasis is on delivering timely, relevant, and precise information in a fast-paced environment, where accurate data is a significant competitive edge and essential for supporting both operational and strategic decision-making.

Additionally, this role will oversee the GNNA Balance Sheet, ensuring all accounts are thoroughly reconciled and that the control environment is robust and suitable for maintaining financial records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a central figure in the integration of the Watson business into GNNA financial reporting.
  • Manage daily operations of the accounting and control functions.
  • Contribute to the development of the A&C team and drive optimization initiatives.
  • Support the month-end closing process for GNNA Company code, including related reporting and controls.
  • Lead the coordination of the BCS closing process to meet group deadlines.
  • Assist the Finance Controller in consolidating monthly actual results and contribute to the monthly reporting process.
  • Ensure effective accounting control procedures are established and maintained, including the reconciliation of the GNNA Balance Sheet.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with Glanbia's accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with Group Finance functions to ensure adherence to Group policies and risk management expectations.
  • Assist in the financial planning process and related reporting requirements.
  • Engage in financial process and systems improvement initiatives to optimize GN financial planning and reporting.
  • Cross-train with Group Finance, SAP/FICO teams, and other analysts, sharing insights with the GNNA team.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A professional accounting qualification (or be in the process of obtaining one).
  • 0-2 years of post-qualification experience in a large multinational or top-tier practice.
  • Strong financial acumen and technical accounting skills, with a comprehensive understanding of GN financials.
  • Excellent collaborative and management abilities.
  • The capacity to operate effectively within a cross-functional matrix organization.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP systems and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
