Financial Analysis, Accounting, and Reporting:
Evaluates data and generates precise and timely reports. Applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to fulfill departmental goals. Ensures that financial reporting aligns with the compliance requirements of both internal and external stakeholders. Extracts and consolidates information from multiple data sources. May identify or prepare ledger entries to guarantee accurate accounting and reporting.

Financial Systems and Methodologies:
Suggests enhancements to improve practices, processes, and systems. Collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve departmental objectives.

Delivers a high standard of service that fosters and sustains robust working relationships while effectively communicating information; takes responsibility for timeliness, accuracy, and relationship management.


Strategic Financial Resource:
Converts departmental financial goals into actionable priorities. Recognizes and escalates financial challenges and risks while providing recommendations. Identifies and engages relevant stakeholders for consultations, communications, and approvals.

Compliance and Risk Oversight:

Establishes, implements, and maintains robust internal controls within assigned areas to ensure effective and appropriate resource utilization, accurate financial reporting, and adherence to contractual obligations, policies, procedures, and external regulatory standards.

May undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Essential Skills:
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
Proven experience in developing, analyzing, and reviewing financial and accounting reports. Solid understanding of accounting processes and GAAP reporting.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt quickly, and work under tight deadlines.
Proficient in computer applications, particularly: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in identifying and correcting improper usage of financial account structures, proposing best practices. Familiarity with PowerBI reporting, especially the desktop application. Involvement in process improvement and automation initiatives. A minimum of two years of experience in financial reporting and analysis within the non-profit or higher education sectors. Experience with financial management systems.
