Pay Rate: $29.87/hour

Position Overview:

Jewish Family Service provides extensive immigration legal services alongside humanitarian support for asylum seekers released into the United States. Collaborating with local networks, JFS offers case management, travel assistance, nutrition services, medical screenings, and financial aid for migrant families.

The Site Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the Migrant Shelter, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and that the needs of both the facility and its guests are met. This position requires maintaining effective communication with staff across various shelter locations and adapting to operational changes as necessary. The Site Coordinator will also provide guidance and oversight to staff, managing the daily functions of the Travel Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the Travel Center and/or non-congregate shelter site
  • Facilitate coordination between the Travel Center, non-congregate site, and other shelter operations
  • Manage guest transfers between sites
  • Welcome guests to the Travel Center and/or non-congregate site, providing orientation and meals
  • Act as the primary contact during emergencies at shelter sites
  • Ensure compliance with emergency management procedures
  • Monitor communication channels for critical operational updates
  • Deliver services with a trauma-informed approach
  • Utilize client management software for reporting and data management
  • Collaborate with external partners for effective service delivery
  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to team discussions
  • Support children's programming in collaboration with the Children's Coordinator
  • Report emergencies or incidents to management
  • Foster team cohesion and mentor staff in their professional development
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and staff
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience, including staff supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in case management and job skills training
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and innovate solutions
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and cultural sensitivity
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Commitment to excellence and high-quality service delivery
Additional Information:
  • Self-attestation of immunizations against communicable diseases
  • Valid driver's license required
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks, including keyboard use and handling materials. The role may require lifting up to 50 pounds and involves both indoor and outdoor work environments.
