Territory Sales Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Regional Sales Executive plays a crucial role in expanding and nurturing the TMC Logistics customer network. This position is tasked with the continuous identification and engagement of a diverse portfolio of profitable clients that align with TMC's core values. Success in this role is achieved through effective communication, strong organizational abilities, and creative strategies aimed at maximizing revenue while fulfilling customer service and operational objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Engage in proactive sales activities to cultivate customer relationships and build a robust sales pipeline. This role is focused on new business development, with no involvement in daily operational tasks.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with external clients.
- Collaborate effectively with assigned Account Executives to enhance customer engagement.
- Monitor and report on all Team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and undertake any additional tasks that contribute to the success of the customer portfolio.
- Facilitate Quarterly Reviews in partnership with the Account Executive.
- Strategically devise and implement plans to increase revenue from new clients.
- Work alongside the RVPs of Business Development to onboard and manage new strategic customers under their guidance.
- Regularly communicate vital information regarding customer portfolio performance to the GM, including challenges, successes, and general account insights.
- Contribute to branch budgeting and annual planning processes.
- Act as a leader and mentor within the organization.
- Develop skills to engage with customers at the VP and C-suite levels.
- Expected to spend 1-2 days per week at the Home Branch, with the remaining days dedicated to meeting prospective clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- A four-year degree, ideally in Transportation and Logistics, or relevant experience in a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience at TMC or equivalent industry experience.
- Not currently subject to a Performance/Discipline Improvement Plan.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and manage stress effectively.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
