Administrative Coordinator for Research Initiatives

The George Washington University is seeking a dedicated individual to join the District of Columbia Center for AIDS Research (DC CFAR) as an Administrative Coordinator. This role is integral to the coordination and support of various research cores aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of individuals affected by HIV.
Key Responsibilities:
The Administrative Coordinator will oversee and facilitate activities across multiple research cores, including:
- Supporting core leadership in managing operational tasks, including budget oversight for events and user feedback collection.
- Planning, organizing, and assessing meetings, research projects, and events for the Developmental, Advanced Technology, Clinical and Population Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences cores.
- Assisting the Senior Research Project Manager with the pilot awards program and service requests from the Developmental Core.
- Connecting researchers with core services through effective coordination with core leadership.
- Tracking and reporting on core services and outcomes for annual evaluations, ensuring compliance with publication standards.
- Maintaining comprehensive records of core activities and service delivery.
- Providing administrative support for specialized interest groups focused on Women and HIV and Sexual and Gender Minorities.
- Managing the Core B initiatives, including the No Investigator Left Behind and Microgrants programs.
- Contributing to the preparation of the annual report.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED along with 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field. The degree must be conferred prior to the start of employment.
Preferred Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with strong interpersonal skills for building collaborative relationships.
- Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational capabilities.
- Prior experience in administrative support within a research environment is advantageous.
- A genuine interest in HIV research is highly desirable.
Compensation:
The hiring range for this position is $22.51 per hour.

Work Schedule:
