Overview:

In collaboration with the Sales Manager and under the guidance of designated Project Manager(s), the Service Project Engineer is tasked with overseeing all technical operations related to assigned projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of engineering tasks, adherence to industry standards, and effective communication among all project stakeholders, including external clients and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager in various tasks such as estimating project costs, preparing change directives, and managing job forecasts and billing processes.
  • Assist in drafting essential project documentation, including proposals, memos, and contracts.
  • Facilitate collaboration among internal departments, ensuring alignment between accounting, purchasing, engineering, and construction teams.
  • Conduct surveys of existing facilities to identify potential enhancements and collect data on energy consumption and structural features.
  • Prepare initial designs to aid in budget and pricing strategies.
  • Employ ACCO's standard engineering technologies to provide technical assistance during construction phases, including planning, design interpretation, and value engineering reviews.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Department to manage procurement processes and coordinate installation efforts across various teams.
  • Monitor on-site project progress, utilizing engineering expertise to address any operational or installation challenges that arise.
  • Handle daily administrative tasks as directed by the Project Manager, including document control and procurement logs.
  • Ensure project timelines and budgets are met by coordinating personnel activities and tracking labor and material costs.
  • Identify potential issues early and collaborate with senior management to implement effective solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers through active participation in project meetings and ongoing communication.
  • Manage subcontractor performance to meet project expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or upper management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; a focus on Mechanical Engineering is preferred, or 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and strong ethical standards.

  • Proven ability to build positive relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions effectively.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to perform essential functions, including:

  • Regularly sitting, standing, and using hands for various tasks.
  • Walking, climbing, and performing physical inspections at project sites.
  • Lifting and moving items up to 30 pounds as necessary.
  • Maintaining consistent attendance and engagement in work activities.

Work Schedule:

This is a non-exempt position with a standard workweek from Monday to Friday, typically starting between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, including scheduled breaks.

Travel Requirements:

Minimal travel (0 - 5%) may be required for project-related activities.

Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage range of $36.47 to $52.88, determined by individual qualifications and experience.
