Position Overview
Our client, a leading firm in data center construction, is looking for a Construction Mechanical Engineer to contribute to innovative projects. This role is pivotal in executing a range of mechanical engineering tasks while collaborating with experienced engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mechanical design using advanced engineering software.
  • Oversee HVAC system selection and detailed design processes.
  • Specify and select mechanical equipment and devices.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings, ensuring timely responses to requests for information (RFIs).
  • Document changes and updates to project scope, schedule, and budget, providing guidance to the project team.
  • Analyze data and prepare recommendations, summaries, and cost estimates for senior engineers and management.
  • Draft technical reports to document engineering analyses and findings.
  • Perform feasibility studies for proposed mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Assist senior engineers in evaluating design and development plans, as well as cost estimates.
  • Assess engineering solutions, equipment, and specifications.
  • Act as a technical mentor to junior engineers involved in the project.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among interdisciplinary teams while receiving direction from project leads.
  • Participate actively in design and construction project meetings.
  • Implement quality assurance protocols throughout the design process.
  • Propose innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Conduct load calculations and compliance analyses, preparing comprehensive reports.
  • Modify standard material and construction specifications to align with project requirements.
  • Possibly serve as a field engineer during construction, conducting site visits and documenting observations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Minimum of 6 years of design experience in a consulting engineering or design-build environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of construction documents and contractual obligations.
  • Familiarity with codes, standards, and engineering processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit, and other engineering software tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Certification is preferred.
  • LEED Accreditation is a plus.
