Systems Engineering Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Systems Engineering Specialist to contribute to the Navy's Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) initiatives. This role involves supporting the modeling and performance assessment of emerging systems and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine models, architectural documentation, and digital assets for systems and/or Systems of Systems (SoS) in alignment with established standards and best practices.
- Utilize modeling techniques to facilitate requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation processes throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
- Generate reports to assist in managing MBSE and digital environment activities, aiding decision-making and resource coordination to achieve digital thread objectives.
- Promote a model-based culture by leveraging the capabilities of the organization's digital enterprise infrastructure.
- Employ model data to foster the creation of a digital thread across various engineering disciplines, including cybersecurity and configuration management.
- Exhibit familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering principles and possess knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Demonstrate experience with collaborative MBSE environments or similar tools (e.g., MagicDraw/Cameo).
- Understand the Department of Defense Architecture Framework/Unified Architecture Framework (DoDAF/UAF).
Equipment Utilized:
- Personal Computer (PC) systems and project-specific testing equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Typical office environment; Computer/Equipment laboratory.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Frequent use of a personal computer, keyboard, and mouse.
- Potential travel, both domestic and international, up to 25% of the time.
Written Communication Skills:
- Proficient in standard business software (including Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Exhibit excellent written communication skills in a technical context, supporting the development of necessary plans and reports.
Verbal Communication Skills:
- Effective communicator, capable of delivering technical presentations and actively engaging in discussions.
- Ability to lead conversations on technical subjects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
Customer Interaction:
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills for effective engagement with corporate clients.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, command staff, and peer contractors.
Project Management Skills:
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks to ensure maximum productivity.
Work Schedule:
- 9/80 work schedule.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours as project needs arise.
- Long-distance travel to various facilities may be required.
Travel Requirements:
- Less than 15% travel expected.
- Long-distance travel to other facilities may be necessary.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Operations Research, or related fields requiring advanced mathematical skills.
Compensation:
$90,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually, depending on experience.
Citizenship Requirement:
U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
Security Clearance:
Candidates must possess an active security clearance or have the ability to obtain one, subject to a U.S. government background investigation. Additional eligibility for access to classified information may be required.
