Position Summary

The Commodity Productivity Leader will take ownership of the productivity Key Performance Indicator (KPI). Utilizing project management and strategic leadership capabilities, this role is tasked with formulating and executing a unified strategy to meet business cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the commodity productivity KPI for the Controls & Services Sourcing Commodity.
  • Develop a cost strategy in collaboration with Commodity Strategy Leaders and Commodity Program Managers (CPMs) to meet business goals.
  • Manage significant cost initiatives for the commodity.
  • Lead the establishment and proactive funding of a multi-year project pipeline.
  • Direct the productivity ideation process for the commodity.
  • Formulate and manage the commodity productivity action plan.
  • Facilitate internal commodity cost operational rhythms with CPMs, Buyers, and Value Engineers.
  • Engage with external resources (e.g., Design, Engine Programs) to expedite cost productivity initiatives.
  • Represent the Commodity in sourcing-wide cost discussions and reviews with Product Line teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to counter inflation and minimize productivity execution delays.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing Product Line and Cost teams to enhance processes.
  • Ensure the commodity utilizes Prodigy as the primary source for cost data.
  • Maintain Prodigy 'health' by addressing issue logs and ensuring accurate data entry.
  • Educate and mentor CPMs, Buyers, Value Engineers, and others on productivity principles.
  • Promote collaboration among supplier teams to replicate successful cost strategies and lessons learned.
  • Apply lean principles and engage in kaizen events to optimize product costs.
  • Assist Finance with the cost validation process.
  • This role necessitates collaboration across organizational boundaries to enhance productivity by aligning internal GE teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Commercial Operations, Sourcing/Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Sales, Supply Chain, or Contract Management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Commercial Operations, Sourcing/Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Sales, Supply Chain, or Contract Management.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.
