Objective:

The Manufacturing Manager is accountable for directing all functions within the Production and Shipping/Receiving divisions. This role involves prioritizing tasks across the manufacturing workflow, implementing process improvements, delivering timely feedback to stakeholders, and ensuring that customer delivery timelines are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and compliance with regulations.
  2. Develop and execute shipment strategies to fulfill customer delivery expectations.
  3. Optimize plant performance by balancing workforce and production demands.
  4. Supervise departmental personnel by establishing daily objectives and delegating tasks effectively.
  5. Uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency within all departments.
  6. Champion excellent housekeeping practices and lead initiatives related to 6S methodology.
  7. Ensure adherence to established procedures to meet customer specifications.
  8. Compile and analyze reports concerning workforce, production metrics, and equipment status.
  9. Monitor material flow throughout the facility, ensuring accurate inventory management through regular audits.
  10. Oversee the scheduling of MRP backlogs to align with current manufacturing plans.
  11. Identify and resolve discrepancies in materials through root cause analysis.
  12. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  13. Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to facilitate the release of orders and materials.
  14. Engage with customers to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  15. Foster a positive workplace culture by acting as a change agent and problem solver.
  16. Contribute to achieving the company’s annual sales objectives while ensuring timely deliveries.
  17. Manage labor productivity and efficiency to drive cost reductions.
  18. Ensure effective management of slow-moving work in progress.
  19. Lead efforts to meet the company’s annual DART rate targets.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, particularly in heavy manufacturing or metals. Supervisory experience is essential, with previous exposure to union environments and forging processes considered advantageous.

Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with production control systems and Office applications are required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to interpret technical documents and communicate effectively across all organizational levels.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Business, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering is required, along with at least five years of relevant experience in manufacturing or engineering roles. Experience with ERP systems is preferred, and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite are essential.
