Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Ingersoll Rand. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations, ensuring the efficient production of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hand-welding operations with close visual attention, utilizing hand/eye coordination to achieve precise results.
  • Take care in blocking, clamping, or holding parts in relative position to avoid distortion, ensuring accurate and precise welding.
  • Operate welding machines and regulate current and voltage for proper fusion of metals, adhering to strict quality standards.
  • Adjust wire, feed, power, and gas as required to achieve optimal welding results.
  • Operate shears, punch presses, and press brakes to provide assistance as needed, supporting the production process.
  • Perform materials handling functions, including preparation of inventory transactions, to maintain a smooth and efficient production flow.
  • Maintain the quality of products, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Learn to use Statistical Process Control to control the manufacturing process and eliminate waste, contributing to process improvements.
  • Perform time studies to keep process times correct, ensuring efficient production.
  • Design and implement process improvements, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes to increase productivity.
  • Perform specified preventative maintenance on equipment, ensuring optimal performance and extending equipment lifespan.
  • Learn and observe safety and good housekeeping practices, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Take extreme care in handling welding equipment to prevent serious injury or damage to themselves, others, or the facility.
  • Schedule work as required to meet production requirements, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Adjust personnel assignments to assure rotation, ensuring a fair and equitable distribution of tasks.
  • Resolve capacity problems by personnel movement or obtaining assistance, addressing production bottlenecks.
Requirements
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in TIG and MIG welding practices.
  • Knowledge of complex welding drawings.
  • Strong English language skills.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders and other types of reports.
  • Strong knowledge of basic addition, subtraction, division, fractions, decimals operations.
  • Ability to understand and interpret information in the form of graphs, blueprints, reports, and other forms of data and information.
  • Ability to explain and use data in creating improved processes.
  • Knowledge of pipefitting skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, reliable, dependable, and possess problem-solving skills.

  • Able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Broad working knowledge and experience with standard work instructions.

  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
